Done everything... STILL get phploader errors!
« on: April 13, 2010, 11:10:53 PM »
I think this is the third time I've tried to install phpmotion, each time with the same stupid phpshield error. My host is working on it now. Just wondering if anyone else is on InMotion Hosting? They're awesome... and they bumped-up the php mem to 1024 and increased the upload limit to 1GB; that's awesome!

Any more suggestions regarding these errors? I tried everything in the links, yet nothing worked.

One more thing: Since this phpshield issue is such a problem, and seems that everyone runs into this issue: Why can't the developers not use phpshield? I've installed and developed on many different CMS's like Drupal, Joomla!, Magento and Dolphin... and they all install like a charm. Honestly, don't mean to be offenseive, but phpmotion dev's should take notice from this and just lose the stupid phpshield. Really, what's the "real" point of having it anyway. It has turned me off from phpmotion twice... and if the third time isn't a charm, I have no intention of trying again.

Just my opinion. Seems like a good video CMS. But if everyone has such a horrible time just installing it, what initial image does that provide? Obviously not a very good one. Just my thoughts.

Not sure if you got this answered, but we're using InMotion hosting also. We asked them to install the phpshield loaders are here was the problem.

Upon review of these loaders and reading the documentation for phpshield loaders it appears that we will need to recompile PHP to have PHP version 5.2.5, currently you are running PHP 5.2.12

They recompiled the PHP and the install worked. Well, sort of, but that's a different issue... ;)

For the heck of it...

Did you try re-uploading the phpshield folder and all of its files within in Binary mode?

I'm having the exact same problems. I'm trying to install phpmotion under a windows 2k3 32 bits server running XAMPP (apache 2.2 & php 5.3.1, thread safety off, phpshield ixed.5.3.win installed) and the server keeps telling me that phpmotion's config.php is not suported by this version of php/phpshield.

phpmotion.zip was downloaded directly to target server so I don't have any text/binary conversion problems.

Why can't you simply remove or at least create a compatible version of phpmotion with PHP 5.3.*? Every other opensource scripts run just fine without this phpshield crap!

Well, a phpShield loader system is the magic to the encoding of their source codes as well as their EZ licensing and domain specific set up for Powertools I believe.

If that answers your question...

They have to do it somehow...
