This is quit normal as the old url structure is gone and over time it will be gone in de search engines aswell. In de long term you should see improvement but because of the upgrade you actually start from scratch.

I posted about this a while back, http://funkycode.net/2009/09/28/dont-upgrade-to-phpmotion-v3-just-yet/ I did tell the devs but apparently nothing was done about it. It's a shame as that's a big set back losing all existing links and could be avoided...

You might want to upgrade to the latest rssmotion.. you are running V2 and its quite old and I don't think it worked well with V3.

the devs didnt really care about their old custommers i think.

When i think of all the time spent to promote those links. reaching pr 5 and then going back to 3 and losing alot of traffic.

i know you need incomes from your script and you need to work on mods/addons for that but just dont make peaples lose hours of work.

i was already unhappy when videograbber war taken offline without  trying to fix it (and im sure there is a way to fix it) and now this, there was no warning that traffic loss can happen in the upgrade thread. nothing

now how long its gonna take me to get back to my preupgrade state 6 month? 1 year?

you said in your upgrade thread that "We accept NO responsibility for any issues that may arise from your attempt at upgrading your site." but i say you should maybeh take some responsibility and say your sorry for not trying to warn us about this or for not fixing the upgrade script.

Maybe one of the reasons was the videograbber was no longer supported and it stopped working on most (if not all sites)  as the method it was working was actually against youtube's T&C's and was really a big "hack" .. You are not really allowed to "rip" their videos off their website and place the raw files on your webserver.  Embedding (like they have released the video embedder using the proper youtube API) with their own player or via a "chromeless player" like jwplayer is ok.

Thanks

Thanks

this too is my biggest fear as for 1 year of hard work putting new content on my website and distribuiting on directorys and search engines was a big fight to go to the top.

I do use V2 and i will keep using it until the problem with SEF can be fixed to update to latest release, this is a big setback to everyone losing traffic.

well are you using the seo mod that oac sold for v2, as if this is a normal v2 site
there should be no issues?

Even without the seo pack the issue is still there the links changed from play.php?vid=XX even though they still work they should be updated to the new /videos/XX/title format.

well that maybe true, but that could not cause a loss of traffic, please
