One of the most important markers that web entrepreneurs use when determining the success of an online venture, is the numbers of users that service engages with. You can have the best website on the planet but if no-one is engaging with it, it may as well be offline.

Page view, active users, page impressions, registered members....these are the statistics that matter the most to any website. The question however is just how do you get people visiting and staying glued to your website?

When it comes to online video websites, its all about ...well videos!

Great video content that is continuously being refreshed is what will create a loyal subscriber base. Its just like any good blog that you keep loading up first thing each morning to see what new articles have been added....what are they talking about today.

If your website is focused on a niche topic then your members come to your website because you have filtered out all the other topics and you have content that is squarely focused on your members interests. The target should be to ensure that there is new content every day that is covering your niche topics.

Having realised that content is the foundation, how do you ensure that your website has great content? There are two sources of video uploads on your website..YOU and YOUR MEMBERS. If you are just starting out, then it will be mainly about you. You need to locate good content and upload as many videos as you can every single day. Its good to have a target that you set for your self each day and you see to it that you hit that target no matter what.

After a while you will start to attract some enthusiasts who will also start to upload some new videos.

You also need to encourage your active/enthusiastic members to upload new videos. While is this is a whole new topic on its own, some of the ways n which you can do that is to incentives the uploading of content. Give them a reason to upload more and more videos.
